LACMA Acquires Elena Manferdini, Jenny Wu and Remy & Veenhuizen
Congratulations to Elena Manferdini, Jenny Wu, and Remy & Veenhuizen, three Industry artists whose works were recently acquired by the Design Council Fund at The Los Angeles County Museum of Art. All three artists employ new media and advanced technology to produce work at the crossroads of engineering and fine art.
Manferdini, the Graduate Program Chair at SCI-Arc, infuses her designs with principles from her Venice-based architectural practice, and collaborates with partners such as Urban Fabrics to produce work that is sustainably and ethically sourced. Wu, also an architect with Oyler & Wu and on the faculty at SCI-Arc, is the founder and designer at LACE, the preeminent line of luxury 3D printed jewelry that interweaves classic elegance with avant-garde manufacturing. Remy & Veenhuizen are a Dutch design duo whose "Accidental Carpets" utilize up-cycled wool blankets to create vibrant and cozy rugs modeled after CT scans.
Congratulations again to our artists, for producing outstanding work that now resides in the LACMA collection.
